Our ethos

As a small business located in a beautiful and fragile environment we are committed to minimising our environmental impact. We select our product range from makers as close to home as possible and who share our commitment to quality products, ethically sourced and made. For delivery we use packaging materials that are recyclable and compostable and manufactured with as much recycled content as we can find. We don't use bubble wrap or other plastic packaging or fillers.

Part of the St Columba family, we strive for excellence in our customer service. Our online customers are very important to us and we want your experience to be unrivalled, from browsing the shop right through to delivery and aftercare.

The St Columba Hotel & Larder aim to be the employer of choice here on Iona. The business is proud to be a Real Living Wage employer, accredited by the Living Wage Foundation. Our staff are carefully selected, trained and supported to provide a friendly, helpful & knowledgeable service. Our aim is to achieve a genuinely customer-focused service. This standard is embedded in our online operation in the same way as it is in our face-to-face customer service. The staff who receive, process and despatch your order and deal with any enquiries you may have before or after your purchase, are the same people who welcome and serve our in-person customers.
